Over 30,000 visitors expected at ADIPEC 2006

Organizers of ADIPEC 2006, the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, to be held November 5 - 8 2006, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, announced today that over 30,000 visitors are expected to attend the event.

ADIPEC 2006 sponsors include leading international companies including Exxon Mobil, Baker Hughes, BP International, Total, Shell, Jodco-Impex and Saudi Aramco. They will be joined by local companies including ADNOC and its Group of companies, Arab Development Co., Dana Gas and HCSEZ (Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones) in their support of the event.

Commenting on Exxon Mobil's association with the event, Frank Kemnetz, President, Exxon Mobil (Al Khaleej) Inc said; 'We view ADIPEC as one of the premier exhibitions in the Middle East where we can demonstrate our technological capability to governments and national oil companies in the region'.

Visitors to the Exxon Mobil booth at ADIPEC 2006 will have the opportunity to gain insights on the company's patented technologies in the upstream oil and gas sector encompassing exploration, development, production and transportation.

Stating that the Middle East was an important growth market for Baker Hughes, Ian Hunt, Area Manager, Middle East, Baker Atlas said that the company's sponsorship and participation at ADIPEC demonstrated their commitment and support for the region.

Hunt also added that Baker Hughes would display the company's best in class products and case histories from within the Middle East that explain how operating companies can lower operating costs, increase reserves, reduce risk, save rig time and boost productivity. Several divisions of the company including Baker Atlas, Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids, Baker Oil Tools and INTEQ will take part.

Reem Mohammed, Events Manager, BP Middle East & South Asia said that ADIPEC was one of the most prominent oil and gas events in the Middle East. 'The event provides a great opportunity to network and showcase our latest technologies and catch up on industry trends'.

BP will be showcasing how the company is moving to the rhythm of business, delivering end-to-end capability in the form of their people and technology and the great partnerships that the company builds. A series of live presentations at the BP stand will cover a wide range of topics from alternative energy to enhanced oil recovery to bridging global know-how with local requirements.

This 12th edition of ADIPEC is poised to be the biggest ever with over a thousand leading oil and gas companies, from more than 50 countries participating. The event builds on the success of the previous edition held in 2004 which featured 1,209 companies, from 54 countries, occupying a total gross exhibit area of 30,000 square meters. ADIPEC 2004 was attended by several high-profile visitors including oil ministers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen and Pakistan.

In parallel with the exhibition, ADIPEC 2006 will also feature a prestigious conference track with 'Meeting the increasing global demand through innovation' as the theme. The conference is expected to feature presentations from industry experts covering a variety of areas including exploration and production, refining and distribution. Speakers will also debate the manner in which high technology is permeating into the Middle East and boosting the oil and gas sector. The Executive Plenary Sessions at the conference will feature leading oil industry veterans from both national and international oil and gas companies who will share their thoughts and vision of the future.
