The Fair, which began on October 1, is a multi-product consumer show with several entertainment events on the sidelines.

In the last 16 days, the Fair received visitors, both young and old, from far flung areas of UAE. As of October 16, a total of 102,226 visitors had visited the Fair. This is an increase of around 15 % in visitor turnout over the corresponding period of the last edition of the event. Whereas the Fair had been witnessing significant visitor turnout on all days, the number of visitors on the weekends has been particularly high.

The current edition of the Ramadan Fair is hosting over 250 exhibitors from India, Pakistan, Lebanon, China and the UAE. Products on display include a wide range of lifestyle products like gifts and novelties, textile and garments, perfumes and cosmetics, stationery, fashion jewellery, Islamic products, food products, gold and diamond jewellery, leather garments and shoes, home electronics and household products, toys, and furniture, among other items.

"The Ramadan Fair is an event that is highly popular with traders and businessmen as well as families," said Mr. Saif Al Midfa, Director General, Expo Centre Sharjah.

"The availability of such a wide array of products and services under one roof at that too at bargain prices is what makes the Fair so attractive," he added.

"With Eid holidays approaching in a couple of days, we are gearing up to deal with a substantial visitor rush during the coming weekend. The visitor numbers are expected to swell considerably during this period as this is the last weekend before Eid Al Fitr. Many families would be visiting the Fair to do their festival shopping and snap up the last minute bargains," Mr. Saif Al Midfa said.

The Ramadan Fair has something on offer for everyone, irrespective of age. Whereas grown ups are kept busy with the variety of products and the accompanying bargains, the joy rides, games, and the traditional village set-ups projecting local cultures and traditions are the focus of attention for children.

For the health conscious, the dedicated health check up facility set up by the Ministry of Health, and offering a range of services including blood pressure testing, diabetes testing, and oral health check ups, is of particular interest.

Another major attraction of the Ramadan Fair is the raffle draws that provides visitors the chance to win fabulous prizes.

The Ramadan Fair will be open till October 24, from 8 pm until 1 am, during the Ramadan period, and from 4.30 pm to midnight pm during Eid holidays.

The event is being jointly organised by Expo Centre Sharjah and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
