ITEP provides ICDL Certificate for more than 5000 Government employees

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum's IT Education Project (ITEP); an initiative to facilitate the growth of IT literacy in the region, has completed the first year of ICDL initiative for Dubai Government employees.

H.E. Khalfan Hareb, Director of Dubai Ruler's Court commented: "No doubt this initiative aimed to develop national human resources, started fruiting. This initiative will promote them to the top of advanced human resources, and make them able to face challenges arise in the transition process towards knowledge economy, and achieve required tasks completely. I have here to laud the penetrating look of the initiative's patron H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and his continuous interest and invest in building the individual as a foundation of the community, and for his highness care of promoting nationals to take care of technology understanding and overcome its challenges. This will create a new pattern for excellent government employees whom they have a high performance in dealing with the latest technologies". he continued: "Great thanks to H. H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his lasting interest in the country and citizens. Thanks also to Sheikh Mohammed IT Education Project for bearing this task, and his employees' loyalty to achieve the best results".

"Today, we completed half of this national project, this an advanced step in the progress based on our implementation plans. We are pleased with what we achieved, the statistics refer to a good response and a positive cooperation from Government departments with the project. The employees willing to participate in this program, their results were very good and they start using the IT skills which they gain from the program and this reflect on their performance" said Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Secretary General of Dubai Educational Council, Director of ITEP. "ITEP is willing to give all its support to make this Government IT literacy initiative spread to cover the other organizations and authorities pan emirates." he added.


"Our employees were highly satisfied with the training and they confirmed that the information they received was taught in a straightforward way to make it easy to understand and the curriculum was comprehensive," said Mr. Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director of executive services in Dubai. "We valued H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision for an IT literate society and we can envision the positive impact that will take place soon. I would also like to thank the ITEP project team for their support," he added.


ITEP is a non-profit organization established by the Government of Dubai for the enhancement of IT in education. It is now the largest IT training provider in the UAE and has trained more than 80000 since its inception in 2000. ITEP has provided training to students, government workers, teachers and those with special needs.
