8,000 music sharing lawsuits

Music companies have filed 8,000 more lawsuits against alleged file-sharers in seventeen countries around the world, Reuters reports. The International Federation of the Phonographic industry says 20bn songs were illegally downloaded last year. The industry has now filed around 18,000 lawsuits in the US and 13,000 in the rest of the world.
