Huawei launches cutting edge optical fibre access (FTTx) solution

With the popularity of broadband access services and the launch of high bandwidth services such as Video on Demand, Internet games and IPTV, optical fiber access represents the future of fixed access networks. The Huawei Terabit FTTx solution is a high bandwidth optical fibre solution that supports GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) and VDSL2 (Very-High-Bit-Rate Digital Subscriber Line 2 - an access technology that can work on existing infrastructure of copper wires) to deliver flexible services.

Based on the 10GE architecture, this solution will help telecom vendors upgrade their existing networks smoothly from GE to 10GE platform. It will substantially reduce operating expenditure for telecom operators as it features excellent scalability, robust IP features and the capability to fulfill the future demands of ultra-high bandwidth.
