'The Soul Food program this year has been a tremendous success with the number of visitors exceeding our expectations,' said Marwan Al Sarkal, CEO of Qanat Al Qasba Development Authority.
'All of our visiting lecturers have been scholars of high repute in both the national as well as the international arena. We hope to organise similar events in the future as well,' he said.
The Soul Food program kicked off on September 29 and featured prominent speakers on Islam from around the world such as Dr. Abdullah Hakim Quick, Sheikh Abdul-Rahman Al-Sumait, Sheikh Suliman Al Jubilan, Sheikh Mohammed Hassan, Saeed Al Zayani and Sheikh Uthman Barry among others.
With a tremendous response from the public in attending the lectures, which were based on a variety of contemporary issues, the QAQ theatre saw a full house every week.
Besides the Soul Food program Ramadaniat Al Qasba will also feature a charity book sale at the Book Boulevard; Zaman Awal, a walk through the past; and a Fun Zone for children. All activities will commence at 8.30pm and will go on till midnight during weekdays and from 8.30pm to 2m on weekends.
