Asian oil and gas industry gives Energy City Qatar a warm welcome

Energy City Qatar Chief Executive Bob Moore said he was delighted with the response from Asian oil and gas industry leaders following a week long visit to Singapore timed to coincide with a number of industry events in the city.

"This was our first opportunity for direct, in depth discussions with much of Asia's oil and gas leadership and their reaction was extremely positive." commented Mr Moore. "The increasingly strong relationships between Qatar and Asia have given us a strong environment in which to deliver Energy City Qatar's unique proposition to upstream and downstream companies alike."

Mr Moore also presented awards at the Platts Top 250 Global Energy Companies Asia/Pacific Rim Region Awards Dinner where the top prize was given to PetroChina Co. Ltd.

"The response was equally positive from companies from the Asian investor and developer sectors," continued Mr Moore. "The technological foundations that will make Energy City Qatar a truly 21st energy hub are especially attractive for these businesses." Mr Moore also spoke with a number of senior executives at the Forbes CEO conference taking place in Singapore last week.

The Energy City Qatar team also toured a number of sites including the Management University Singapore to view intelligent building technology similar to that which is currently in development with technology partners Cisco and Microsoft designed specifically for energy companies which will support the facilities of Energy City.
