The UAE has developed a National Bureau of Statistics, subject to cabinet approval, which will act as a centralised database, reported Gulf News. A statement from the UAE Ministry of Economy said that the NBS would prepare, analyse and compile national data and statistics across economic, social and demographic sectors. The move follows a recommendation from the IMF which suggested the implementation of a comprehensive and consistent statistical system.
