The Eid Festival, which is scheduled on October 24 - November 1, will run for nine days at the Oman International Exhibition Centre starting on the first day of Eid Al Ftr. First held in 1986 and organized by Omanexpo LLC, it has long been associated with the Eid holidays and has established itself as Oman's most popular shopping extravaganza.
'For more than 20 years now, many families in Oman have included a visit to the Eid Festival as part of their annual Eid celebrations,' said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading exhibition organiser in the sultanate. 'We continuously try to make the festival worth visiting every year by ensuring that visitors will always have lots of products to choose from and lots of other activities to enjoy.'
Paul pointed out that a large number of international exhibitors from more than 15 countries worldwide will be participating at Eid Festival 2006. In particular, there will be a strong presence of companies from Syria, Egypt, Pakistan, China, India, Thailand, and the UAE. The other international exhibitors will come all the way from Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Vietnam, Yemen, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Uzbekistan.
Omani companies will likewise prominently showcase their products and directly promote their brands to their target customers. Many local companies have extended their support to the Eid Festival, and these include Al Reef LLC, National Mineral Water Co., National Tea Co. LLC, Muscat Pharmacy & Stores, Oasis Water Company LLC, Oman Textile Mills, and W.J. Towell & Co.
According to Paul, the range of the products to be displayed at the festival is considerable, as the event primarily intends to provide everyone with everything they need under one roof. Specifically, shoppers are expected to have a great time making their choices from the wide variety of garments, shoes and bags, beauty products, home décor, fashion accessories, food products, gift items, and children's toys.
In addition to shopping, all visitors of the Eid Festival will also have the opportunity to enjoy entertainment programs and fun-filled activities such as magic shows, musical performances and henna painting. Everyone will also get a chance to win a TV set daily and other exciting raffle prizes by just going to the festival.
Eid Festival 2006 to attract thousands of shoppers
This year's Eid Festival in Muscat is shaping up to be the largest ever shopping event in the sultanate with the participation of many local and international exhibitors who will offer a wide range of products at highly affordable prices.
