Raja Randir Singh, Secretary General, OCA has expressed confidence in the progress made by DAGOC with just 42 days left for the Games.

In his official letter to the media, OCA's Secretary General said: "Extensive preparations are underway to conduct the biggest spectacle of sports, the Middle East region has ever seen, and the efforts being made by DAGOC are commendable".

"The OCA in coordination with DAGOC has ensured that all athletes and officials whose names have been forwarded by the respective National Olympic Committees will be accommodated at the Asian Games Village and there is no cause for concern in this regard", Mr. Singh continued.

"The OCA Coordination Committee has also been working in close cooperation with DAGOC and I am pleased to confirm that all technical matters concerning the conduct of the games as well as the test events for the games have been completed and the OCA is extremely pleased with the outcome".

Mr. Singh also said that "The OCA is confident that the 15th Asian Games, being held for the first time in the Gulf Region will be a landmark Games, which will not only be a benchmark for the future Asian Games to follow but will also encourage other NOCs of the region to follow Doha's example. "

DAGOC has received letters from National Olympic Committees and sports federations the world over and this is yet another sign that Doha 2006 enjoys world-wide support.
