Plans to develop Ras Al Khaimah into a leading regional tourist destination are moving ahead quickly, reported Gulf News. RAK Airways is gearing up for its launch early next year while, alongside this, 50 hotels are scheduled to be built in 2007. The emirate will focus on developing its maritime resources and promoting its historical sites to attract tourists. RAK is also determined to transform itself into a business hub.
