This voluntary healthcare initiative was relaunched on October 15th 2006 to provide reconstructive surgery for children suffering from cleft lip, palate and other facial deformities.

The announcement was made at a press conference which was held at the Le Meridien Hotel two days after the campaign's launch. The press conference announced that it was a medical team of both Korean and Jordanian specialists who performed reconstructive surgery for 20 Jordanian children whose families were otherwise unable to afford the costs of the surgery at their own expense. The reconstructive surgeries were performed at the Jordan University Hospital and their success brought a promise of a healthier quality of life for both the children involved and their families.

The press conference was preceded by a medical seminar at the same location. The seminar was attended by Jordanian medical specialists all of whom enjoyed a battery of informative lectures given by their Korean counterparts. The lectures were given by Professor Jong-Ho Lee PhD Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Seoul National University's College of Dentistry, and his colleague Assistant Professor Soung-Min from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Kangnung National University's College of Dentistry in Korea. Both field specialists informed attendees about the latest medical advancements seen in the field of reconstructive surgery in Korea, and their lectures were proven to be packed with useful information and a healthy means for information exchange between medical specialist from both Jordan and Korea.

When asked to comment on the results achieved from LGE's Hope Campaign, Mr. T. Y. Lee the General Manager of the LGE Amman Branch said," We at LGE are very proud of the positive results we have achieved during the two-day campaign. It gives both myself and everyone at the company great joy to know that we have contributed to bettering the lives of children from the Jordanian community. We feel we are an integral part of this community, and that is why we at LGE always look for ways in which we could play an active role in Jordan's economic and social development. We are not just providers of high quality consumer electronics and cutting edge technological solutions; we are also proactive players in Jordan's journey towards future development. We feel that the children of today are the market leaders of tomorrow and this is why we have provided our support to this particular campaign. This campaign revolves around the very people who will be shaping Jordan's economy in the future, and in this regard we feel that it is our duty to be responsive to the social and economic needs of Jordan's people "

Mr. Ghazi Farouq, the assistant managing director for marketing at the Middle East Complex (MEC) added," MEC and LGE are both very proud to be part of this campaign, for this campaign is one that comes with a great humanitarian message. The LGE Hope Campaign doesn't only serve to provide a better quality of life for children from the Jordanian community, but it also provides a means for a healthy exchange of knowledge between both Jordanian and Korean Medical specialists. Once again LGE has played an active role in fostering cultural understanding between Jordanian and Korean communities, and on my part I thank everyone involved in this campaign for their great efforts, and I am proud of the great results that this campaign reaped."

After the conference came to a close, members of the local media enjoyed an Iftar meal with both the management of LGE and the medical team that worked on the Hope Campaign. Over the meal everyone present enjoyed lively conversations, a peaceful ambience, and good food.

It is important to note that this isn't the first campaign of its type to be organized by LGE, for the company always plays an active role in creating opportunities that in turn better the quality of life for Jordanians. Earlier, in the Holy Month of Ramadan, LGE provided an Iftar meal for the young boys living at the Anas Bin Malek Center for Abandoned Children. In addition, every year LGE sponsors the Dead Sea Ultra Marathon, which benefits neurological patients in Jordan. LGE always strives to organize initiatives that provide hope for the people of Jordan. This Hope Campaign was organized and implemented in cooperation with Jordan University hospital; extending current LGE-Jordan University collaboration which started earlier this year.
