The ultimate family entertainment, cultural and leisure destination of the emirate, Qanat Al Qasba thrilled visitors with a fantastic repertoire of events during the Eid celebrations which started on October 23 this year.
'It has been a great pleasure for us at Qanat Al Qasba to watch the month-long activities end so successfully. The number of visitors during the past three days to walk the premises has been colossal. A lot of credit goes to the people behind the scenes who helped put together various aspects of the event to make it such a tremendous success,' said Marwan Al Sarkal, CEO of Qanat Al Qasba Development Authority.
'Visitors to QAQ Eid celebrations enjoyed the fun and festive atmosphere laden with exciting events as well as the peaceful ambience of Qanat Al Qasba, making a complete experience,' he added.
A spectacular display of fireworks on the first day of Eid which started at 9pm welcomed visitors into the folds of the three day celebrations. Visitors were also kept entertained during the three days with fantastic performances by traditional Arabic bands at the Zaman Awal heritage area.
On the third day of Eid, the excitement reached a peak when the Fawazeer Al Qasba riddle winner was selected at the raffle draw. The competition was sponsored by KIA Motors and the lucky winner who got most of the answers right at the month-long riddle competitions went home with the prize, a KIA carnival car, while the second and third winners won cash prizes.
And to complete the festive atmosphere, both children and adults were equally kept delighted throughout the hours of the Eid celebrations with the antics and games of the many clowns, stilt walkers as well the roaming magic shows at QAQ.
The Zaman Awal heritage event which awed visitors throughout the month of Ramadan with one of the best representations of the UAE heritage and hospitality attracted huge crowds during the last three days. The Book Boulevard, the charity book bazaar of Ramadaniat Al Qasba and the Fun Zone, also part of the Ramadan events, saw tremendous numbers crowds during the holy month of Ramadan and during the three days of Eid.
Eid visitors enjoyed the scrumptious cuisines offered by various restaurants flanking the canal, rides on the Eye of the Emirate, the second biggest observatory wheel in the region and the QAQ Abra tour along the peaceful canal.

After a month of festivities at Qanat Al Qasba, Ramadaniat Al Qasba, QAQ's month-long Ramadan event ended with a bang yesterday with a spectacular three day celebration.
