Work to repair a fault on a cable between Suez and Mumbai will now take place on 4th November between the hours of 10 am and 6pm, instead of the previously published schedule of work which was due to start on 1st November and continue over a six day period.

Batelco apologises for any inconvenience caused to customers during this outage which may affect Batelco customers for up to eight hours. The outage will mainly affect customers using fixed lines to make international calls and using prepaid cards. Internet services will also be affected and Batelco recommends that customers give more priority to applications like browsing and email which consume relatively less bandwidth than other applications such as file sharing which requires more bandwidth per user. This is to minimise the impact on all customers.

"This interruption in the service is beyond Batelco's control but we want to ensure everyone affected that the Company will make every possible effort to minimise the impact to customers," said Batelco Corporate Affairs General Manager Ahmed Al Janahi.

Batelco would like to thank customers for their cooperation and understanding during FLAG's repair programme.
