A major attraction of the Education Show this year, especially for students planning to go to Germany for higher education, is the counselling services that will be provided during the show by the DAAD Information Centre for the Gulf Region.
The DAAD Information Centre, which has its office in Abu Dhabi, UAE, serves as a point of contact for all issues concerning cooperation between Germany and the UAE in the field of higher education. It aims to strengthen relations between higher education institutions in the UAE and in Germany.
The Centre at Abu Dhabi provides services to academic institutes in the GCC-countries and gives information to individuals and institutions interested in academic exchanges with Germany.
Besides individual participation from across the globe, the Education Show will feature country pavilions from India and the UK.
Commenting on the profile and the size of the event, Mr. Saif Al Midfa, Director General, Expo Centre Sharjah, said:
'The Show is the UAE's most comprehensive education platform that showcases a range of opportunities in higher learning from both within and outside the country. The whole idea behind hosting such a large number of educational institutes on a single platform is to provide the student community in the UAE an array of options with regard to their course of higher studies. Students and their parents visiting the Show will be able to deliberate on a range of the available options in a stress free environment and then choose the right course and institute as per interest and budget without having to hop from one campus to another or spending huge amounts of money on postage, telephone calls etc,'
Mr. Saif Al Midfa further said that visitors to the forthcoming Education Show will have the opportunity for face-to-face interaction with representatives/counsellors from participating institutes, meet trained counsellors who will provide advice on how to select the right course and institute, get spot addmission at select institutes subject to fulfilling certain conditions, and acquire complete information and guidance on eligibility criteria/course information/fee structures/job prospects/visa formalities at the venue/campus environment.
The Education Show will also witness the aggressive promotion of the various loan schemes that are currently available in the UAE for pursuing higher education, both within and outside the country. This will be particularly beneficial to students who are dependent on financial aid for enrolling in to institutes of higher learning.
