Abidos Hotel enjoys excellent business results in its first month of operation

Drawing on the buoyancy of the Dubai hotel sector, newcomer Abidos Hotel Apartments, Dubailand, has enjoyed excellent business results in its first month of operation, with year to date average occupancy of over 90%, according to Mr Mina Habib, VP - Business Development.

"65% of this comes from online sources be it online travel agencies, brand website or e-bookings, reflecting the high demand for Dubai from a vast range of feeder markets," Mr Mina Habib said.

"In addition, we are also receiving FIT and corporate guests as well as airline crew, enabling us to start building a healthy customer base," he added.

The GCC has been the highest producer for the hotel with Saudi Arabia and the UAE leading the way, followed by countries in Europe such as UK, Germany and France. With the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) underway, Mr Habib said, "He expected a further inflow of nationalities from emerging markets such as the CIS, Indian Sub-continent and China as well as a boost in regional visitors."

"Dubai Airports is predicting traffic levels will reach 66 million this year, following an increase of more than 13% in 2012, and, in particular, the constant increase in low cost airline networks is providing hotels and apartments in Dubai with a greater number of feeder markets, offering non-stop and competitively-priced access from secondary cities in the CIS, as well as throughout the Middle East," said Mr Habib.

"As a first-time participant at DSF, it enables us to introduce the brand and superior product facilities to visitors and offers an unrivalled platform to build awareness," he added.
