Abraaj to offload stake in Turkish health insurer

Dubai-based Abraaj Capital plans to sell its 50% stake in Turkish health insurer, Acibadem Sigorta, Reuters has reported, citing three sources familiar with the matter. Acibadem Sigorta is a 50:50 joint venture between a holding company owned by Dubai-based Abraaj and Mehmet Ali Aydinlar, founder of Turkey's Acibadem health group, and ranks third in the sector with a market share of just over 10%. Health insurance premiums climbed 11.9% at TL2.24bn last year, with Acibadem Sigorta's premium income jumping 35.5% to TL230.3m, according to official data.
