Abu Dhabi to award Bab gas deal soon
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, April 23 - 2013 at 05:13
Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (Adnoc) has said Royal Dutch Shell is in a strong position to win a multi-billion dollar contract to develop the Bab sour gas field, which is set to be awarded within a few weeks, Reuters has reported. The ultra-sour gas deal could give Shell a competitive edge in talks for the 2014 renewal of the UAE's largest onshore oil concession on which the Bab field stands. The winning bidder for the Bab project will be expected to form a joint venture with Adnoc as the majority shareholder.
