Seminars targeted on publishing opportunities in the MENA region:
ADIBF offers its partners and exhibitors a truly international forum for developing long-term networking opportunities between the Arab and international publishing communities. With this as its background ADIBF will be continuing with the series of seminars focusing on publishing opportunities in the Middle East and the Gulf region. KITAB will be organising a range of seminars and targeted match-making sessions at the Frankfurt Book Fair. The seminars are aimed at publishers of children books and another seminar for academic and educational publishers keen to gather valuable market information.
Wednesday, 10th October at 11am (SPARKS Stage, Hall 4.2) KITAB will present a seminar titled 'Successful Partnerships in Educational and Academic Publishing in MENA'. The session will bring together speakers from international and Arab companies who have set up partnerships with counterparts in the Arab world. Speakers will explain the reasons for this move and how such partnerships are beneficial for both sides. Speakers will share insights about their successful business in the MENA region.
On Thursday, 11th October at 12.30 (Forum Dialogue, Hall 5.1) KITAB will present a seminar on 'Licensing children's content to the Middle Eastern Market'. Speakers and experts from Scholastic and Albert Whitman, two companies who have been operating successfully in Middle East and will share insights with the audience.
Librairie Orientale, one of the oldest and most prestigious publishing company in the Arab world will enlighten the audience on territorial rights and language rights, licensing vs. co-editions etc. Jabal Amman Publishers, a dynamic company from Jordan will share their own market research in this segment, and present observations on reading habits of Arab children.
On Friday, 12th October at 2.30pm (Malaysian National Pavilion Hall 5.0 E921) KITAB will moderate a session on 'Matchmaking Arab-Malaysian Publishers'. This event is being organised by the Abu Dhabi International Book fair and the National Book Council of Malaysian.
The trained ADIBF team will be at hand to moderate the discussion and ensure that the partners have a prolific experience in working their way towards boosting their business networks through this targeted match-making session.
