Abu Dhabi to monitor road traffic from the air

The Air Wing of the Abu Dhabi Police has announced that surveillance planes are to patrol Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region to monitor the highways and internal roads, especially during peak hours, Wam has reported. The planes will conduct at least three air patrolling sorties in each of the regions every week. They will be manned by two pilots, a thermal imaging device operator and a doctor to help in the event of serious traffic accidents and for transporting the injured safely to hospitals.
