  • PRESS RELEASE

Abu Dhabi Motors has cemented its position as the best performing BMW Group importer in the Middle East with the delivery of 5,358 vehicles in 2012 - the highest number of cars vehicles in one year and the first time any BMW Group importer has delivered more than 5000 cars in 12 months.

With a 21% increase in BMW and MINI sales in 2012 compared to the previous year, Abu Dhabi Motors finished the year with yet another sales record. This growth figure was driven by sales of the brand's top-of-the-range models, with the BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle (1,991), X6 Sports Activity Coupé (1,120) and BMW 5 Series (804) performing the best.

General Manager Arno Husselmann personally greeted the company's 5000th customer, Mr. Khaled Hamad Mohammed Sultan Al Dhaheri, on collection of his new BMW M5. Commenting on the occasion, Husselmann said that he was proud that Abu Dhabi Motors had delivered more than 5000 vehicles in 12 months and that it illustrated the scale of the company's ambition to achieve record year-on-year growth and increase its market share.

"The delivery of our 5000th vehicle represents an important moment in Abu Dhabi Motors' illustrious growth. When we started operations in 1986, we made a commitment to provide customers in the Capital with premium products, professional staff and exceptional service standards. Our strategies, planning, investments, employing the best people and hard work have clearly paid off as we continue to achieve record year-on-year growth and have been the best performing BMW Group Middle East Importer for the past three years. We also achieved our highest customer satisfaction results ever in sales and aftersales and in December 2012, achieved a sales Customer Service Index of 95.9% and in service a score of 91.7%," he added.

The MINI brand also continues to grow with 251 cars sold during tin 2012, an increase of 21% and an impressive achievement deserving of the exciting range of models MINI now offers. Contributing to these outstanding results was the high demand for the MINI Countryman, MINI Hatch and the new MINI Coupé.

Abu Dhabi Motors has grown over the years to become the leading BMW Group importer in the Middle East and currently employs over 520 staff members in six different facilities across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Earlier this year, the company launched the world's largest BMW Group showroom and after-sales facility - an Dhs300m+ investment to expand and improve all areas of its flagship showroom.

"We have come a long way since 1986 and never rest on our laurels. We will put our foot on the accelerator with the intent to end this year with another record sales performance as well as increase customer satisfaction, while setting the bar for professionalism amongst our competitors," added Husselmann. "We plan to make it another tough year at the office for them, considering we sell the best cars in the world!"

Abu Dhabi Motors currently rank in the top three Importers worldwide for new and used car sales achieved during the last "Excellence in Sales" awards.
