The municipality of Abu Dhabi City has warned severe penalties are to be enforced on the unsafe use of scaffolds and cranes in the cleaning, maintenance and construction of buildings, Khaleej Times has reported. The warning follows the rise in on-site accidents involving scaffolds. "The move comes in the aftermath of some recent tragic incidents, claiming the lives of several clean-up workers due to the lack of full compliance with regulations and standards set by the municipality of Abu Dhabi City," said Salah Awad Al Sarraj, acting executive director of Town Planning Sector at the municipality.
