Abu Dhabi rules out water, electricity price hikes this year

Abu Dhabi Distribution Co (ADDC) has ruled out plans to raise the prices of water and electricity in 2013 in the emirate, Gulf News has reported. "We have no intention to increase the prices of water and electricity this year," said ADDC's customer service director, Ahmad Al Za'abi. According to a recent report by Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre, the total electricity consumption in the emirate rose 10% to 43,250 gigawatt per hour in 2012, with Abu Dhabi region accounting for 64% of total consumption, Al Ain and Al Gharbia consumed 24% and 12%, respectively.
