Abu Khader Automotive claims fifth place for best technicians in the Middle East

As part of its commitment to deliver best customer service and help improve the technical skills, expertise and knowledge of dealer technicians, General Motors Middle East held the 2012 Dealer Technician Skills Competition in Dubai.

The contestants were tasked with diagnosing, repairing and correcting systems on Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC vehicles that were purposely outfitted with faults, and were judged on their skill in Expert Product Knowledge, Technical Knowledge and Fix-it-Right-the-First-Time. The challenges and faults on vehicles are changed for every competition.

Some 2,000 dealer technicians entered this year's competition and after two tough initial rounds that tested their knowledge, 40 best-of-the best technicians headed to the Autodrome in Dubai for the two-day finals to put their skills to the test in front of 51 judges. After the tough task of examining the technicians, 10 winners were chosen.

During a special gala dinner held at the conclusion of the competition in the presence of Mr. Nicola Abu Khader the CEO, Mr. Taher Al-Husseini the General Manager and Mrs. Abeer Fakhouri the After Sales Services Manager, Abu Khader Automotive (The Leading Vehicles Company) the exclusive dealer for General Motors brand in Jordan won fifth place in the competition and received an award from Mr. John Stadwick - President and Managing Director of GM Middle East.

"Our technicians are the interface between GM and our customers. They are a key to customer satisfaction and important members of teamGM. Just like with any team, when our technicians succeed, we all succeed," said Stadwick.

"It was quite impressive watching our technicians take on some very challenging problems and fix them right the first time. It left me convinced that we have some of the best automative technicians in the world."
