- Middle East: Tuesday, June 05 - 2012 at 11:16
Acer Inc. has ruled out plans to shift away from Intel, despite adoption by Microsoft of rival ARM for its new Windows 8 operating system, Reuters has reported. The world's fourth-largest PC maker said it plans to formally launch new ultrabook and tablet designs after Microsoft releases its new operating system, expected in the fourth quarter, with the first shipments starting in August and volume shipment commencing in September. "Finally the couple (Windows and Intel) recover their relationship," Acer chairman J.T. Wang said. "We are more familiar with the Windows ecosystem, our supply chain is also mainly in the Window ecosystem."
