The Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japan International Cooperation Centre (JICE) as part of the regulator's efforts to transform the emirate into a knowledge-based economy, Wam has reported. "Adec aims to raise the quality of Abu Dhabi's higher education system to an internationally recognised level, as well as align education with Abu Dhabi's social, cultural and economic needs," said Adec's director general, Dr Mugheer Al Khaili. "In order to do so we must exchange academic expertise as well as expose our youth to different types of cultures and educational practices," said Dr Al Khaili.
