ADFCA concludes its participation at Al Wathba Festival

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has successfully concluded its participation in the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival at Al Wathba. The Authority's participation included a host of services at the event.

Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said the role of the Animal Wealth sector was the most important part of the Authority's participation at the festival, since it provided several services including free checkups for contesting camels, supply of fodder, vaccination services, spraying of the pens and the transfer of dead animals.

ADFCA also offered awareness services for visitors, such as proper methods of handling foods. The Authority also elaborated on its research and development activities and demonstrated model farms, poultry research, the products of the ADFCA research stations such as honey and vegetables.

The Authority also explained its efforts at fighting the pests that affect date palms, especially palm weevil.

The Animal Wealth sector had a separate enclosure within ADFCA stand for demonstrating the various advanced services offered for the benefit of animal breeders, such as the identification and registration system.

It also introduced the visitors to various breeds, proper methods of feeding animals and providing them health care, in addition to distributing useful publications. ADFCA also oversaw the food being served to participants.
