- PRESS RELEASE
As part of its endeavour to promote Abu Dhabi's world-class events and hospitality offerings to wider global audience, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) is taking part in "IMEX America", America's global exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events.
Al Dhaheri stressed that ADNEC has joined forces with Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority to shed light on the unique attractive offerings of Abu Dhabi for both travel and business tourists. The two organisations also aim to highlight the unique offerings for local, regional or international companies and investors in MICE sector, especially for the lucrative North American market, which ADNEC is gearing up towards in the upcoming period.
The international MICE industry is of great importance to ADNEC because such events create a valuable platform to share information, exchange ideas and develop business relations with the leaders of this industry. Furthermore, it raises awareness amongst clients and showcases the latest developments in the conference and event industry. It will also be an excellent opportunity to share the successful experience of the ICC Abu Dhabi hosting the World Ophthalmology Congress 2012, which was marked by the participation of more than 10.000 experts coming from more than 126 countries.
Al Dhaheri said Abu Dhabi, which won Best Luxury MICE Destination Award in the 11th China Travel Meetings Industry Awards, has made significant headways over the past two years in attracting major convention business to the emirate - such as the International Conference on Neurology & Epidemiology to be hosted in November of next year, World Travel & Tourism Council's Global Summit in April 2013, the 16th World Congress on Tobacco or Health 2015, the 20th Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology 2015 and the 70th Annual Conference of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums 2015.
Robin Miller, Conferences and Events Sales Director at ADNEC, who will be attending IMEX America, said, "Abu Dhabi is growing as a catalyst for the MICE sector both regionally and internationally and its presence in such large exhibitions will pave the way for growth and open opportunities for new investments. ADNEC is making a concerted effort to raise awareness of its world class conference facilities and infrastructure in the coming period. By developing strong relationships and partnerships with clients and key stakeholders, Abu Dhabi will unquestionably see a rapid development of its conference product in the coming months."
Miller added "Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre is experiencing a period of rapid growth as global interest in the destination as an events hub steadily gathers momentum. Last year the company hosted 231 events including the World Ophthalmology Congress which was truly a statement that ADNEC can host some of the largest and most prestigious conferences in the world."
Speaking about ADNEC's participation at IMEX America, Miller explained that it aims to strengthen cooperation and partnerships with various entities and institutions involved in the organization of conferences and events, as this exhibition is one of the largest international exhibitions in this field, attracting leading international conferences organisers. "Our objective from attending IMEX America is clear. We aim to showcase the venue and its capabilities to organisers of major global events and demonstrate how, as partners, ADNEC can guarantee the delivery of successful events."
