Adobe to remove Flash Player from Google Play
- Middle East: Thursday, August 16 - 2012 at 11:38
Adobe has decided to pull its Flash Player app from the Google Play Store, following a decision it took last year to cease development of the software for mobile devices, PC Magazine has reported. Adobe in late June warned it would be pulling Flash from Google Play on August 15 because any devices that don't have Flash Player installed out of the box are "increasingly likely to be incompatible" with the software. The company is not developing and testing Flash Player for the most recent version of Android, dubbed Jelly Bean, and all of its available browser options. As a result, "the current version of Flash Player may exhibit unpredictable behaviour" on devices upgraded from Android 4.0 to 4.1.
