Advisers named for OPWP's Qurayat water project

Oman Power and Water Procurement Co (OPWP) has selected three international consultants to provide advisory services linked to the procurement of a large Independent Water Project (IWP) at Qurayat in Muscat governorate, Oman Daily Observer has reported. OPWP has appointed UK-based Project Financing Solutions to provide financial advisory services on the development of the green-field water scheme, while Spain's Ayesa has been named the Technical Adviser. Global law firm Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle was awarded the Legal Advisory Services contract. Plans drawn by OPWP on behalf of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) envisage a 40 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) capacity, or 180,000 cubic metres per day, seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant at a site south of Qurayat town.
