AECOM wins cost management contract for Oman hotel

Global provider of professional technical and management support services Aecom has been awarded a contract by Oman's government-owned tourism development firm, Omran, for the cost management of a 300-bed, four-star hotel at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre precinct in Muscat, Oman Daily Observer has reported. Under the contract, worth an estimated $1.1m, Aecom's programme, cost, consultancy team is to carry out pre- and post-contract cost management of the convention centre, its associated hotel, and all the roads and utilities required to service the growing precinct. The project include a 3,200-seat, tiered auditorium and more than 22,000 sq m of exhibition space, as well as two business parks, an additional three hotels and a number of residential properties, offering 1,000 hotel rooms, and a shopping centre.
