- PRESS RELEASE
Aesthetics International, the plastic and cosmetic surgery clinic founded by Dr Jaffer Khan, has announced the launch of its Aesthetics International charity foundation.
The documentary, directed by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy and Daniel Junge, follows Dr Jawad as he travels to Pakistan to perform reconstructive work on victims of acid violence.
Aesthetics International founder Dr Khan commented, "I am very proud to announce the charity foundation, which comes as a direct result of the whole team's commitment to helping those in need of reconstructive treatment. We aim to support people suffering from disfigurement by providing not only financial support, but also treatment from our team of surgeons."
Dr Mohammad Jawad added, "The need for reconstructive treatment is widespread across the globe, stemming from a range of causes, such as domestic violence, natural disasters, congenital birth defects and trauma related injuries. As plastic surgeons working in this field we are able to give patients renewed hope and help them to overcome the battles they have faced. By travelling to countries such as Pakistan to perform reconstructive surgery we are also able to share skills with medical professionals on the ground and improve education within the country."
The Aesthetics Foundation will donate a percentage of the Dubai-based clinic's profits from aesthetic and cosmetic procedures. Global charity organizations in the fields of relief work, reconstruction and treatment for deformities (including EDHI foundation, PCRF, Operation smile, and ReSurge) can apply for financial aid, as well as medical support from Aesthetics International's team of specialist plastic surgeons. Patients can also apply directly to the foundation.
