- PRESS RELEASE
For more than 30 years, the BMW Motorrad GS has been defining and dominating the segment of travel enduros. No other motorcycle is such an uncompromising embodiment of freedom and adventure, reliability and riding dynamics, and ultimately pure riding pleasure both on and off the road.
Available at AGMC, the official importer of BMW Motorcycles in Dubai, Sharjah and Northern Emirates now, the BMW R 1200 GS is superior in every respect. It delivers outstanding performance and excellent comfort while wowing crowds with its eye catching looks and new LED headlamp for advanced visibility.
The fine-tuned handling and agility of this model provides maximum riding pleasure on back streets and desert roads while the new lightweight 199kg engine ensures that the model is capable of tackling the roughest and toughest of terrains.
Face on, the BMW R 1200 GS offers a perfect blend of diversity and aesthetic style, setting unique accents and styling in the process.
With a total of 12 different colour options across the bodywork, interior and tank side cover, AGMC's customers are encouraged to make a statement by making this model their own.
When on board, the BMW R 1200 GS offers riders remarkable harmony in its combination of off-road and on-road riding qualities. Equipped with dual ignition, new Digital Motor Electronics featuring integrated knock control and improved catalytic converters with separate oxygen sensors for each cylinder, this all-new model puts BMW's class leadership in the large volume touring enduro segment in the fast lane.
At the beating heart of the BMW R 1200 GS sits a newly designed 125 bhp engine for top-level riding. BMW works its magic by optimising the engine geometry and applying the most advanced simulation methods in order to reduce the weight of the engine by 8%, despite the larger capacity and wider range of functions.
Additional new features include a new intake system for optimum output and torque with 52 mm throttle valve diameter, E-gas for improved smoothness and ride-ability and an innovative exhaust gas system with electronically controlled exhaust flap for optimum performance characteristics and an earthy gearbox sound.
The result of all these newly combined features is superior power and usability under all conditions and in all situations, with power and torque constantly available regardless of engine speed, gear selection, or the weather conditions facing the rider.
"This new model demonstrates a synthesis of easy handling, supreme touring suitability, off-road potential and comfort for rider, which puts it in prime position to become one of AGMC's best-selling motorcycles." said Osman Abdelmoneim, General Manager, AGMC.
"In Q1 alone we saw a 42% increase in sales in the segment so we have placed a huge emphasis on providing our customers with the latest and most advanced in riding machines, and the BMW R 1200 GS is testament to this," Osman added.
The model joins AGMCs' extensive range of BMW Motorcycles, including the BMW S1000RR, BMW K1300S, BMW K1300R, BMW R1200GS, BMW R1200G, BMW Adventure, BMW F800GS, BMW F700GS, BMW G650GS Sertao, BMW F800R, BMW F800GT, BMW C600Sport, BMW C650GT, BMW R1200R, BMW K1600GT and the BMW K1600GTL.
