Agreement signed between the Sultanate of Oman and Republic of Estonia

In order to enhance and simplify eGovernment services, an agreement was signed between the Information Technology Authority (ITA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MOCI), represented by H.E. Ahmed bin Suleiman Al Maimani, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Regions Affairs, MOCI, and Dr. Salim Al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, and Centre of Registers and Information Systems of Republic of Estonia, represented by Mr. Mehis Sihvart, Director of Centre of Registers & Information Systems; Estonian state agency in the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice.
Speaking on the significance of the occasion, H.E. Al Maimani stated: "This agreement shows the Sultanate's keenness to strengthen the collaboration with different countries. We will benefit from the Centre of Registers & Information Systems in terms of exchanging experiences and experts especially in the areas that we need to develop. I hope this agreement will lead to more work with the Centre in the future."
The OSS project provides a single window of service to the business community of the Sultanate of Oman. The system was one of the first few eGovernment initiatives launched in the Sultanate of Oman. The project aims to enable the online eServices and enhance the business processes.
