Ahlia University and UNIDO to start Entrepreneurs Centre

Following the conducted orientation session by the UNIDO representatives and on behalf of the Head of UNIDO Dr. Hashim Hussain, the UNIDO team consisting of Business Counsellor Dr Ilene Valian Agana, and Associate Business Counsellor Ms. Faaiza Adil, have met with Professor Abdulla Al-Hawaj to set the basis for establishing the Entrepreneurs Centre.

This centre will provide support for entrepreneurs whose goals are to open their own business.

The Dean of Registration and Student Affairs Dr. Mansoor Al'Ali and the Director of Ahlia Training and Development centre Dr. Aqeel Rahdi also attended the meeting.

Prof. Al-Hawaj expressed Ahlia University's management's commitment to establish the centre that will help Ahlia graduates to establish their own business. This in turn will help boost the economy of Bahrain and provide more jobs. Furthermore, Prof.

Al-Hawaj discussed with the UNIDO Team the 25 hour training programme that will be conducted in two batches: the first starting on the 13th January and the second starting on the 19th of January.

The participants in these two workshops are from the faculty and staff of Ahlia University. The objective of the workshop is to develop participants' skills in business counselling, and for young Bahraini entrepreneurs to become certified business counsellors.

These two workshops will be held in ATDC, the Ahlia training and development centre, and the lecturers are professional experts in the field of Entrepreneurship.
