Ajman airport waiting for GCAA approval

The government of Ajman has said the opening date of the emirate's new airport has not yet been decided, as the operations approval from the aviation authority has not yet been obtained, Khaleej Times has reported. The Dhs12.7bn airport was designed to accommodate various types of aircraft, serving at least one million passengers a year and handling a minimum of 400,000 tonnes of cargo. However, initially, it will start with cargo services and air taxis to transport passengers to other emirates.
