Al Ain Properties appointed as Project Developer and Dhs179m construction contract awarded

The park's renovation follows extensive consultation carried out with many stakeholders over recent months, including local community groups, government agencies and correspondence with over 70 local schools.

The Park is located on 15th Street between Airport Road and Karamah Street and is one of the largest and oldest parks in Abu Dhabi.

When it reopens in early 2015, Mushrif Central Park will be 'The People's Park' serving all communities in providing a safe and secure environment with distinct opportunities for visitors to explore the unique venues, experience the dramatic new landscape, feel enriched by the vibrant culture and educated through the exciting new features of the Park.

These include a Children's Garden, Performing Arts Venue, Botanic Garden & Shade House, an Evening Garden and a Petting Zoo.

Sustainability is also a key focus as over 250 mature trees will be uprooted and replanted. The relocating and nursing of these trees will need to be carefully supervised to ensure that they will survive and take root in their new environments. Also, reclaimed treated water will be used for irrigation throughout the park, saving up to 40% of consumption.
