Al-Futtaim Travel recruits Emirati women and graduates

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, January 08 - 2013 at 14:12
  • PRESS RELEASE

Al-Futtaim Travel, part of Al-Futtaim group, has launched an innovative programme designed to provide employment opportunities to Emirati housewives and graduates in line with the UAE government's directive to promote the participation of UAE Nationals in the private sector as expressed in the recently unveiled ABSHER initiative.

Al-Futtaim group is amongst the first backers of ABSHER and, as part of the group's commitment to the initiative, Al-Futtaim Travel is currently recruiting 12 Emiratis to train them become Home Travel Councilors with the role to provide personalised travel services to UAE Nationals.

Working from the convenience of their home environment, the UAE ladies who have been selected will be able to deliver to their compatriots a diverse range of travel related services, from airline tickets, package holidays, children educational programmes, medical travel to honeymoons, car rentals or hotel accommodation.

"This initiative was determined by the launch of ABSHER and in particular the programme's call for the diversification of the areas of work available in the private sector," said William Horsley, General Manager, Al-Futtaim Travel.

"Thanks to Al-Futtaim Travel's long experience in and association with the Emirati community, we have developed a deep understanding of the discerning traveling needs of the local community which helped us create this win-win initiative designed to further improve customer satisfaction while creating jobs for Nationals."

According to the timetable of this unique, by GCC standards, initiative, the recruited UAE Nationals are currently attending a series of training modules designed to equip them with the know-how required to operate as Home Travel Councilors. Al-Futtaim Travel customers will be able to avail of the new service as of January 21st.
