Al khaliji participates in MEED banking conference in Qatar

Al Khalij Commercial Bank 'Al Khaliji' QSC executives; Mr. Oliver Naggiar, Head of Financial Institutions, Mr. Mohammed Al Emadi, Head of Business Development, and Mr. Arfat Qayyum, Head of Premium and Private Banking, participated as panel speakers at MEEDS's 'Qatar Banking Summit' that took place in Doha last week.
Mr. Naggiar was involved in a panel discussion titled 'Local Debt Capital Market Options and Strategies' where he touched upon the subject of project bonds.
When the panel was discussing local debt capital market options, Mr. Tahir Pirzada, Head of Investments and Capital Markets commented on excess liquidity in the Qatari market and steps taken by Qatari regulators to create a framework whereby this excess can be used by local financial institutions.
Mohammed El Emadi and Arfat Qayyum, spoke about Latest Developments in Qatar's retail banking sector and the resilience of the Qatari economy, and the steps taken by the State of Qatar to maintain economic stability and encourage growth, providing some statistical information on Qatar's economically active and bankable population.
Al Khaliji's participation in the Qatar Banking Summit reinforces the bank's emerging role as a local and regional industry leader. Bank executives are regularly invited to speak at seminars and conferences to share their input and experiences with the public, as industry leaders have repeatedly looked towards Al Khaliji for input and thought leadership.
