Al Meera to spend QR4bn on expansion

Qatar's Al Meera Consumer Goods Co has announced a five-year expansion plans worth QR4bn that will see at least two more Géant hypermarkets and six new Al Meera stores in the country this year, Gulf Times has reported. The proposed six new Al Meera outlets will include three convenience stores and three super markets, said the CEO of Al Meera, Guy Sauvage. "Tenders for these six new projects will be announced in the coming days," he told reporters in Doha. Currently, the company has 34 Al Meera stores, of which 29 are in Qatar and five in Oman.
