His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), received in his office His Excellency Justin Siberell, Consul General of the United States of America in Dubai.

The visit comes in the framework of RTA objectives to build relationships and foster continued cooperation locally, regionally and globally.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed strengthening cooperation and sharing expertise between the RTA and the American institutions operating in rail, roads and transportation sectors. They also reviewed the upcoming road and infrastructure projects in Dubai, especially in the light of the increased presence of American companies specialized in road construction projects and mass transit systems that are currently being undertaken by the RTA.

"The RTA is committed to adopt the best practices in every project phase in order to achieve the overall objectives of Safe & Smooth Transport for All, and contribute to showcasing the standing of Dubai worldwide," said Al Tayer. "The UAE in general and Dubai in particular is witnessing mega development projects that led to the influx of people and business; which necessitated the improvement of the infrastructure in terms of road and transportation networks such as Dubai Metro, marine transport, buses, taxis, etc., to accommodate the increasing growth in population, projects and urban expansion," added RTA Chairman of the Board and Executive Director.

For his part, the U.S. Consul praised the extensive development witnessed by the emirate of Dubai in a short while rendering it a focal point for investors, businessmen and tourists; thanks to the visionary leader His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
