Alfardan Automobiles reveals world's first MINI Sports Activity Coupé at Qatar Motor Show 2013

Alfardan Automobiles, the official importer of MINI cars in Qatar, has revealed the latest MINI models at the Qatar Motor Show 2012. Taking place from 29th January till 2nd February 2013 at Doha Exhibition Centre, the highlight of this year's motor show was the Middle East debut of the MINI Paceman - the first sports activity coupé in the premium compact segment that combines the sportiness of an SUV and the sleek design of a coupé.

Highly customisable, the MINI Paceman is available in eight body finishes, two roof colours, and offer six light alloy wheels in four colours.

The brand new horizontal taillights emphasise the MINI Paceman's fresh new look, as elegance and athleticism go hand-in-hand with the elongated doors, sloping roofline and rising shoulders.

The MINI Paceman's high-powered engine boasts lowered sports suspension as standard, which accentuates the trademark MINI go-kart feeling.

All variants, which include the MINI Cooper and Cooper S, come with a six-speed manual gearbox, or a six-speed automatic option with an output spread from 122 hp to 184 hp, to ensure that the MINI Paceman gives its passengers the drive of their life.

Mr. Mohammad Kandeel, General Manager, Alfardan Automobiles, commented, "The MINI Paceman was out in full strength at the Qatar Motor Show to reiterate the sporty appeal and smoothness of the MINI brand in Qatar. The new MINI Paceman will add a new chapter to the MINI brand with its active and dynamic elements and the smooth design. We have no doubt that it will be a popular addition to our portfolio, which we are happy to offer to MINI fans in Qatar."

During the Qatar Motor Show, Alfardan Automobiles also revealed the new MINI John Cooper Works GP, the fastest MINI ever built. The limited edition model boasts an extensively modified four-cylinder turbocharged engine developing 160 kW/218 hp, adjustable coilover suspension, an ultra-powerful sports braking system, the DSC stability control system with GP race mode.

These, along with model-specific alloy wheels and sports tyres, all ensure superb handling and provided a whole new level of driving fun for the guests. Only 2,000 units of the new MINI John Cooper Works GP have been produced worldwide, 20 of which are available for purchase from MINI importers across the Middle East.

"We have a lot to be excited about this year. The MINI brand's popularity continues to grow in Qatar with 31% growth in 2012 sales compared to 2011, so we are looking forward to start the year with the launch of the world's first MINI sports activity coupe in the world - the MINI Paceman," Mr. Kandeel added.
