Almuftah Trading and Contracting Co.'s Technical and Service Division receives ISO certificate

ISO certifying body BM Trada Middle East formally awarded Almuftah Trading and Contracting Co.'s Technical and Service Division with its ISO 9001:2008 certificate on Jan. 27, capping off the division's long journey towards ISO certification.

The awarding ceremony took place after BM Trada Middle East confirmed, last December 2012, the division's passing of its rigorous certification audits for compliance to the quality management system standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization.

The ISO 9001:2008 standards entail efficient control of business processes to ensure that the requirements and expectations of customers are met.

Part of the Almuftah Group - one of Qatar's most successful multi-service enterprise - Almuftah Trading and Contracting Co.'s Technical and Service Division was established in 1971 to provide reliable after-sales support for the electronic products and industrial equipment being sold by Almuftah Group. These include products from world-renowned brands like Sharp, York, Black & Decker and Filtrine.

The division's receipt of the certificate was hailed as a milestone by Almuftah Group Managing Director Mr Ibrahim Almuftah, who expressed his gratitude to the people involved in the endeavor.

"We are thoroughly pleased to have received this certification from BM Trada Middle East. The project was initiated even though it was not a compliance requirement because we felt that we owe it to people who repose trust in our organization and expect us to deliver value at all times. I am grateful to all our associates from the Technical and Service Division and from our Quality Management System Department, who worked hand-in-hand to make sure that their goal for the unit comes to fruition," said Mr Almuftah.

The Technical and Service Division's ISO certificate now stands as a testament to Almuftah Group's commitment to making sure that, in the near future, all of its business units will adhere to the stringent quality management system standards prescribed under ISO 9001:2008. The certificate is also hoped to inspire the division's management and associates to continually improve their organization's activities and processes so that they can deliver the best services possible to their customers, partners and all other stakeholders.
