The first sporting event to be hosted by a global distribution system (GDS) in the region, the event aims to inculcate a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship among the travel fraternity in the UAE and Oman.
Hosted in collaboration with Etihad Airways, the tournament is scheduled to be held on 18 and 25 January at the Sheikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The event will see eight teams clash in seven matches. As part of the finale on 25 January, organisers Amadeus Gulf and Etihad Airways will take centerstage in an exhilarating twelve-over match. Complementing the overall theme of the event, each team will sport specially designed names, logos and game kits.
Senior executives from across the travel, tourism and aviation sectors, including Etihad Airways, Ibis Hotel by Accor Group and Omeir Travel Agency, one of the UAE's leading travel agencies, are among the main sponsors of the event.
Amadeus Gulf Cricket Tournament 2013 is additionally supported by key industry players including Abu Dhabi Travel and Tourism Agencies Council (ATTAC), Al-Masood Travel, Jet Airways, Air France, KLM, as well as technology companies Systrix and One View IT Solutions.
