Amazon planning 10-inch Kindle Fire

Amazon is planning introduce a larger version of the Kindle Fire, as the online retailer gradually grows the size of its tablet PCs, Cnet has reported. The 7" Kindle was launched in November 2011 and was followed by an 8.9" version in September 2012. The new Kindle Fire is to feature a 2,560x1,600-pixel 10.1" display, or 300 pixels per inch (PPI) density, which is significantly denser than Apple's Retina iPad 4 with 264 PPI, according to Richard Shim, an analyst at NPD DisplaySearch. Mass production of the display for the 10" Kindle Fire will start in the third quarter, Shim said.
