AMD launches array of new products

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) has announced the availability of three products for the fabric computing, micro servers and data centre technology segments, Digitimes has reported. The first is a new chassis, AMD's SeaMicro SM15000 server, which extends fabric-based computing across racks and aisles of the data centre to connect to disk arrays supporting over 5PB of storage capacity. The chip maker also announced a new generation of compute cards for its micro servers based on AMD Opteron and Intel Xeon Ivy Bridge-based processors.
