- PRESS RELEASE
The American Hospital Dubai will play a high profile role as an exhibitor, sponsor and Congress supporter at Arab Health 2013, with a range of conference speakers and moderators. The Hospital will also host daily tours for visitors to the event of the Dubai campus, in support of Dubai's efforts to promote healthcare tourism.
Senior physicians and management from the American Hospital Dubai are involved in six conferences at the Arab Health Congress - the world's largest CME accredited multi-track medical congress, accredited by the Cleveland Clinic - as moderators and speakers at conference sessions. In addition, Dr. Omar Hallak, Interventional Cardiologist at the American Hospital Dubai, is the Chairman of the Cardiology Conference.
At Arab Health 2013, the American Hospital Dubai will present its comprehensive range of services and specialist centers , which continue to attract increasing numbers of patients from outside the UAE, with patients from more 20 countries treated at the Hospital every year. 40% of patients treated at the Hospital's Total Joint Replacement Center in 2011 were from outside the UAE. The Total Joint Replacement (TJR) Center performs more than 1,000 surgeries each year and is one of the largest centers of its kind in the world.
The American Hospital Dubai operates a range of centers, from The Neuroscience Center to the Sleep Lab, reflecting the transformation of the Hospital into a specialist provider of highly specialised and advanced forms of tertiary care, through teams of specialist consultants who are all US board certified or equivalent. The Hospital is increasingly developing these specialist practices into regional centers, reaching out to patients in the GCC, Nigeria and beyond.
Mr Thomas Murray, CEO of the American Hospital Dubai, commented: "The hospital is undergoing rapid expansion and development as we continue to expand our tertiary care capabilities and introduce new and advanced services. This evolution of specialised tertiary services has helped attract patients from further afield and we believe this provides a good model for the Dubai healthcare sector, as it becomes the regional hub for world class healthcare services, which we are committed to support. Major professional events such as Arab Health create the opportunity to show visitors the quality of our physicians and infrastructure and we look forward to welcoming delegates to the Hospital, as we celebrate 16 successful years of serving the community."
