The American University in Dubai (AUD) signed an internship affiliation agreement with Emirates NBD recently. The agreement comes as an effort to improve AUD's collaboration with regional employers and to assist in Emirates NBD's recruitment needs.

During the signing ceremony, Ms. Stella Mandehou, Career Services manager at AUD, expressed, "We look forward to continuing a fruitful relationship with Emirates NBD and supplying them with talented students and graduates."

The agreement between Emirates NBD and AUD involves career guidance for AUD's graduates, recruitment and professional training, internship placement, as well as exchange of ideas between professionals and students.

Emirates NBD is pleased to begin its relationship with the American University in Dubai with the signing of the MoU recently in support of their outstanding students and graduates. The bank can provide students with an in-depth knowledge of the formal functional activities of a participating organization. This is another way that Emirates NBD fulfills its corporate social responsibility.

Ms. Rehab Al Hosani, Senior Manager- Nationalisation & Business Communication Unit in the Learning and Development in HR, says, "Emirates NBD will welcome the new and talented AUD students and provide them with the opportunity to test their interest in a particular field in banking before permanent commitments are made."

Shekhar Sawant, the Head of Learning & Development in the HR Department, says, "We are delighted to support the AUD students and graduates on their learning journey. We look forward to hosting these young interns on an on-going basis."

Emirates NBD will accept interns recommended by AUD and complement their classroom learning with on-the-job training in the day-to-day activities of the bank in various sections.

Commenting on the new partnership, Mrs. Peggy Awad, Director of External Relations at AUD, said, "AUD recognizes the importance of providing access for its students to the broader external community and the crucial role that the industry and corporate partners play in helping develop our students' skills as we prepare them for the competitive workplace."

The Career Services Office at AUD acts as a liaison between students and regional and multinational companies, as well as creating a business network to offer employment and internship opportunities to AUD students and alumni.

Through a series of activities and events, the AUD student community and companies are brought together with the aim of a mutually beneficial collaboration, ensuring that the university's talent is employed by the market leaders in their future endeavors.
