- PRESS RELEASE
The second DNA Health Corp Investor Conference - the annual meeting of this US-based company which is transforming family health approaches for the 21st century- is being held on Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island next week ahead of next year's Q1 opening of its integrative medicine and wellness centre in the UAE capital.
"These are business people interested in partnering our Saadiyat Island facility which will be our inaugural global flagship integrative medicine and wellness centre," explained Dr Nasim Ashraf, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, DNA Health Corp.
The DNA facility, in The Collection complex of The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, is being seen as a major stride into opening Abu Dhabi up to the multi-billion-dollar global wellness and health tourism.
Currently a $100bn industry, the global wellness and health tourism sector is projected to grow to $1 trillion within the next decade. The UAE has been highlighted as playing 'a significant role' within the industry, according to a report released in November this year , which forecasts over 700,000 medical tourists to the region with an expected revenue of US$2 billion by 2016.
"Abu Dhabi is strategically positioned at the heart of one of the world's most rapidly advancing regions, is easily accessible through increasing regional and global airlinks, and is one of the region's safest destinations with virtual year-round sunshine," explained Dr. Nasim.
"The emirate's enormous potential as a health and wellness destination has been the pivot of our vision of transforming healthcare for the 21st century since inception, with the pristine and natural Saadiyat Island the jewel in the crown."
Interior fitout work has already commenced at the state-of-the-art DNA Centre for Integrative Medicine & Wellness, which will provide the highest level of US healthcare protocols for lifestyle management, healthy aging and the treatment of chronic disease, and offer a new family health care model based on a holistic approach uniting leading-edge Western medicine advanced diagnostics and cellular therapies complemented by Eastern alternative modalities.
While in Abu Dhabi the potential investors will be given a taste of the destination courtesy of TCA Abu Dhabi, which has supported the conference under its Advantage Abu Dhabi incentive initiative which seeds and catalyses the meetings industry in the emirate. The initiative focuses on meetings associated with the 12 sectors aligned with Abu Dhabi's 2030 Plan, of which the health industry is one.
