Apex-Brasil hosts Gala Dinner in Dubai to celebrate cuisine, music and culture

The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) hosted an exclusive Gala Dinner in Dubai recently to celebrate the best of Brazilian cuisine, music and culture, at the Godolphin Ballroom in Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel.

H.E. João de Mendonça Lima Neto, Brazilian Ambassador to the UAE and Sidney Alves Costa, General Manager, Apex-Brazil Middle East, welcomed the 130 special guests that comprised representatives from Dubai's business community, government officials and members of the media.

A highlight of the evening was a chance to taste the special dishes prepared by visiting Brazilian chef Paulo Machado. Among the delicacies on offer were Frango com Quiabo, a traditional Brazilian chicken with okra; Chibé, refreshing cold soup perfumed with Amazon herbs and manioc flour; and Salada de FeijãoFradinho e Cebola, black eyed peas salad with onions.

The main course featured ArrozCarreteiro, Pantanal style rice with cured beef tenderloin and sun-dried meat, served with ChurrascoPantaneiro, Brazilian style picanha; cap of top sirloin barbecue; MolhoVinagrete; campana sauce; and Farofa, manioc flour from Brazil.

The event was held on the sidelines of the Gulfood exhibition which saw the participation of 47 Brazilian companies who showcased various food products and services to potential buyers and partners from the Arabian Gulf, a prime export destination for Brazilian food products.
